Intelligence vs Intellect

Intellect is the mind’s ability to process, compare, relate, and infer, and in its innocent state, it only serves our basic biological welfare. But when ego appropriates it, intellect becomes ego’s attorney, generating complex excuses and justifications for the choices ego has already made, and this is why high intelligence does not of itself produce real freedom. Intelligence in the service of ego only builds a more sophisticated prison, but when the brain and body are no longer being hijacked by ego, a deeper, natural intelligence begins to move on its own. It is far more fluid and wise than anything ego could ever contrive, and our highest potential is not ego mastering the body but ego becoming thin enough for this natural intelligence to be expressed freely.
